Cat Love ~ CYP Challenge 238

Hi everyone! Since it's Monday, we have a brand new challenge at Craft Your Passion. This week's theme is Bright and Sparkly so we ask that you use bright colours and some type of glitter on your project. Our wonderful sponsor is Inky Impressions and the image I chose to play with is called Cat Love...so sweet! I coloured the cats, moon, and stars with Prismacolor pencils but coloured the background sky and grass with Pan Pastel. Gold Stickles was added to the moon, stars, and the medallions on the cats' collars, as well as green on the grass tufts. Tiny punched flowers were added to the grass and given brown Stickles centers. Then the image was cut out with a Spellbinders Curved Rectangles die and matted in black cardstock. Doodling was done around the edges with a black Micron pen.

The card began with a white base and a yellow rectangle of cardstock was cut to leave a narrow border of the white. Another curvy rectangle was cut from blue cardstock with glittery embossed dots. Layered over both of these was a strip of harlequin washi tape and a length of sparkly glittered ribbon. The image was popped up on foam tape and offset from the blue.

To finish off the card, the word Love was added to the bottom right corner of the image. Faux stitching was done around the outside of the yellow layer. A distressed white metal star was popped up on a double layer foam tape and added to the top left corner to balance the design and add dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today. The cats and I appreciate your visit although they seem a little absorbed with each other at the moment...lol.To see the wonderful projects by my teamies, pop over to the Craft Your Passion Challenges blog for a look-see. Hope you will join us for our Bright and Sparkly challenge.

Life is good; so is art.
