Craft Your Passion Challenge #122
Yippee! This is my first post as part of the Design Team at Craft Your Passion Challenges so I'm pretty pumped. The challenge this week is Anything Goes. I chose the lovely Nurse Heather from our sponsor, Sassy Studio Designs, for my card. She was a treat to colour with my Prismacolor pencils, using a little OMS to blend her face and hair. Nurse Heather was fussy cut and layered over a dark brown cardstock rectangle with the corners rounded. A little white faux stitching framed her up nicely.
The background consists of two patterned papers from my scrapbox. If I don't keep using up those scraps, I'm going to need a scrap trunk! Two thin strips of brown cardstock were glued to either side of the horizontal paper to provide better contrast with the red and white stripe. The image piece was adhered with foam tape for dimension.
The sentiment was computer-generated, cut into banner flags, and brads attached to the flat edges. The flags were also mounted on brown.
Be sure to check out the designs by the rest of the DT on the CYP Challenges blog and enter this week's Anything Goes challenge for the chance to win awesome prizes from our sponsors. I can't wait to see what you create.
Life is good; so is art.

Congrats on making the design team! Nurse Heather is armed and dangerous. That needle would frighten the disease out of anyone. Great background papers---they complement Heather and work together to make Heather the center of attention.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bonnie, for coming by my blog today and leaving your sweet comment. I really appreciate that and am so glad you plan to browse the store during my Grand Opening. I hope you'll enjoy the free tutorial you picked up. Your card here is a crack up! I used to have a nurses outfit when I was a little girl. I had a doctor bag with a plastic syringe and I LOVED to give shots. So this card really made me hoot. Great coloring by the way! Really fun card. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteHiya Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up! I think I am going to enjoy working with you and your sense of humor! I love the sentiment -"Don't make me come over there" - and as a nurse, I gotta use it! Love your color choices and your coloring - neat card!
