Love You Bunches!
I was super excited to be asked to fill a guest designer spot for a few posts at One Crazy Stamper, an online and brick and mortar store right here in Ontario. The challenge theme for the month is Love and I was delighted to play with this sweet Penny Black stamp called Thank You Bunches. The artist is Mo Manning and, as you know if you are here very often, I am a huge fan of her images. There is a sweetness about them that speaks of simpler times. I coloured this little beauty with Prismacolour pencils and then fussy cut her. She was then adhered to black cardstock and fussy cut again to give her a narrow mat which gives her crisper edges and visual weight. Glossy Accents was added to her shoe buttons to give them shine and dimension. I smile the whole time I am playing with one of Mo's images. Chubby cheeks and shoe buttons...sigh!
The background was created with rusty rose cardstock, peach coloured designer paper and purple cardstock embossed with a Darice embossing folder. All three layers were matted with black cardstock. Before the purple layer was adhered with foam squares, white pleated satin ribbon by Melissa Frances was added to the bottom. White cord was wrapped just above where the ribbon meets the cardstock.
The sentiment was computer generated and printed on scraps of the second layer of BG paper. Hearts were cut out by hand, matted in black, and Glossy Accented (new verb) to create a shine and a harder finish. The hearts were mounted to the background using foam dots. Faux stitching was added to the white card base with a Micron pen.
Be sure to pop by the One Crazy Stamper blog to see what the design team created for the Love challenge theme...awesome! I'll be back tomorrow with the other two projects I created with OCS products.
Life is good; so is art.
