Rock and Roll ~ CYP Challenge 197

OK, everyone...it's time to Face the Music! That's the theme for our new challenge at Craft Your Passion Challenges this week. We want to see music inspired cards or projects. I chose to work with this fun image called Anime Drummer from our wonderful sponsor, KennyK Downloads. His enthusiasm and obvious joy make me smile.

I coloured  the D-man with Prismacolor pencils going for huge contrast with the orange and blue. The image was cut with a Spellbinders Big Scalloped Square Large die which was left in place while Broken China Distress ink was added to the background. Love the white border that creates. The image was matted with black cardstock to frame it before popping it up on foam tape.

The background is from an older ColorBok paper pad and looks like alligator or crocodile leather (I don't know the difference). The metallic strips are lengths of foil tape from the garage stash, used to tape up heat pipes. I ran them through the Cuttlebug using a star embossing folder...cool effect IRL.

The card was completed by adding two holographic stickers, a music notes brad, and a sentiment which was computer generated and printed on kraft cardstock. Vintage Photo was applied to the edges once it was fussy cut.

Thanks for dropping by today. The D-man and I appreciate your company. If you get a chance, pop by the Craft Your Passion Challenges to see the music inspired projects created by the rest of our talented DT...so fun. I'd love to see your take on the challenge...hope you'll join us.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
613 Avenue Create  (of course)~ #55 Anything Goes
Dream Valley Challenges ~ #73 Boys/Men
KennyK's Krafty Krew ~ #164 Anything Goes + Use Black

Life is good; so is art.

  1. Bonnie you talk about the enthusiasm and joy in Kenny K's images making you smile and I do agree with you. However, what has given me an even bigger smile is how you have translated those traits into this awesome card ....It is packed full of enthusiasm and joy and makes me feel Very happy. Your bold colours, embossed metallic tape and striking black background paper (whether it be crocodile or alligator) show all your own enthusiasm and joy in creating this great card.

Thank you for sharing this lovely card in our challenge this week. Ingrid xx ( OSAAT Team )

  4. Your card rocks! Especially like the foil tape which complements the rock & roll theme. I've used roof flashing to emboss on and it is sharp to cut but not tried foil tape. Thank you for entering OSAAT Ch196 Use A Digi.
