To the moon ~ CYP Challenge 199

Our challenge theme this week at Craft Your Passion Challenges is Love is in the air so we would like to see love-themed projects. Easy peasy with Valentine's Day just around the corner, right? I was so happy to learn that our sponsor this week is the fabulous A Day For Daisies. I love the whimsy and innocence of Tammy's images. I chose to play with "Talking to the Moon"...fairy and man in the moon = win/win in my books! I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and added Icicle Stickles to her pretty little wings. The image was fussy cut leaving a narrow white border, matted on textured brown cardstock, and then fussy cut again. This gives the image more visual weight as well as keeping the little dangly bits from tearing off. Foam tape was applied to the back for dimension.

The background paper comes from DCWV's The Garden Party Stack. The bottom paper has a subtle ledger paper pattern and was matted in the dark brown cardstock. The torn layer has glossy shimmery dots. The torn edges were inked with Vintage Photo Distress ink and doodling was added on both straight ends and next to the torn edges. The shimmery resist hearts are from Heidi Swapp. The chevron pattern is revealed once the colour is applied, this time in the form of Tattered Angels Rum Punch mist. The chipboard hearts were also matted in brown for contrast. The sentiment was computer generated, cut into flags, and edged with Vintage Photo. They were then matted in brown and faux stitched. The final touch was to add the three half pearls to the dotty layer both for shine and for balance.

Thanks for stopping by today. I appreciate your wonderful company. Be sure to wash your hands after reading this because I have a wicked cold and wouldn't want you to catch it....lol. 2. Bonnie, you've put so much love into creating this card of love .....All that fussy cutting, that sounds like a labour of love to me but the results are outstanding. The sensitivity of your colouring and the beautiful papers, and the stitching ....what wonderful work. Your sentiment got a big Ahhhhh from me as I used to use those very words to my children many moons ago.

Thank you for sharing this lovely card in our challenge this week. Ingrid xx ( OSAAT Team )

  11. Hope you are feeling much better by now! I just got around to checking Blogluvin and found this beauty! I hope you don't mind, but I sent your url to a gal who emailed me about fussy cutting. I told her you use a technique for the fine, spindly things that is just what she is looking for! I am frequently reminded when I visit you that my doodling predilection is something I should USE in my art! You always inspire me to do something different - thank you for that!
