Hugs ~ CYP Challenge 224
Another Monday has arrived ...not sure where that last week went. We have a new challenge at Craft Your Passion and this one is sure to be a hit: Flower Power. We want to see flowers in some form...on designer paper, in the image, or as embellies. I chose to feature flowers in all three of the above. Our sponsor is A Day For Daisies which makes me very happy since I love those images. There is something so tender and sweet about them...huge "aww" factor.
I chose to play with Picked Bouquet, paper piecing her dress, and then colouring her and shading it with Prismacolor pencils. Daisy was then fussy cut leaving a narrow white border and then matted in black before being popped up on foam tape.
The background is layered strips of designer paper from the Park Bench paper line from Fancy Pants combined with black cardstock. Once all of the strips were adhered, I faux stitched around them with a black Micron pen and popped my little friend on top. Jet Black Archival ink was sponged through the TH Splatters stencil and splatter dots were stamped on with Peacock Feathers Distress ink.
The edge of the card was bordered with black doodling. Three Prima resin flowers were given hand cut black leaves and adhered to the bottom right corner to finish off the design.
Thanks for joining Daisy and me today. We love that you came by. When you get a chance, hop over to the Craft Your Passion Challenges blog to see the wonderful inspiration provided by my talented teamies. We would love to have you show us your Flower Power creations by playing along with us.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
613 Avenue Create - #82 Use a sentiment
Lacy Sunshine ~ #38 Flowers
A Gem of a Challenge ~ #124 Spots and Stripes (use both)
Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge ~ #39 Anything Goes
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards ~ #70 Polka Dots
Life is good; so is art.

You continue to amaze me with your creativeness! Every card is fresh and new and not a remake of someone else's design... omg and this is no different! Combining strips of DP with black and creating a vibrant background for your image and then "stitching" it in place... so cool!
ReplyDeleteI learn from you with every card!
