Belle et Bete ~ RSD Progressive Challenge Part 2

Hi there! It's the first of a brand new month (my birthday month!) and that means that it's time for the next stage of the Progressive Challenge with Rick St. Dennis and the EDT. For Part 2, you must use the image which we have featured on our EDT projects, Belle et Bete. If you played along with Part 1 in September, you will have received this image free. If not, you can still play along by purchasing this image from Rick's Zibbet or Etsy shops.

I coloured Belle et Bete with my Prismacolor pencils using my usual layering to build up vibrant pigment. I fussy cut the image and matted it with black cardstock for strength and greater contrast with the background. Foam tape was then applied to the back.

The background is a layering of two papers from DCWV's The Midnight Spell matstack onto a black card base. I wanted the house to be behind Belle and Bete as if that was his wonderful magical house. It created more of a scene for the characters. The black glittery houndstooth paper was layered under it . I liked the contrast and that it could be a walkway so it seemed to ground them.

The sentiment from Create With TLC was printed on a doily, faux stitched, and cut to fit the corner. Two threaded buttons bring a little of the solid black to that corner of the design and add sweet detail. The rickrack has a green metallic thread running through it which adds sparkle and catches the light.

Thanks for stopping by to meet Belle and Bete. He has some difficulty showing it but they are both happy that you came by...me, too. Be sure to pop over to the RSD Sparkle and Glitter EDT blog to see other wonderful renditions of this RSD image by some of my talented teamies. While you are there, check out the DT Call. It might just be you who we are looking for! Hope you'll join Part 2 of our Progressive Challenge...looking forward to seeing what you do with Belle et Bete.

Life is good; so is art.
