Merry & Bright ~ CYP Challenge 239
Hi everyone! It's a brand new week and that means a new challenge at Craft Your Passion. The theme this week is Something beginning with B. We want to see a few things on your project beginning with B. Please be sure to list them in your post.
Our wonderful sponsor this week is Diane's Daydream Designs and I chose to create with this sweet Cardinal image since cardinals are my mom's favourite birds. It came with a coloured version as well but since I love colouring, I chose the black and white version of the bird, adding my own colour with Prismacolor pencils. The blue background colour was done by applying Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress inks with a blending tool. The image was then cut with a Spellbinders Labels 26 die and matted in black cardstock.
The card began with a white card base. A black rectangle was cut slightly smaller than the card front and a rectangle of blue snowflake patterned paper added to that leaving a black border at the bottom. Snowflakes were punched from the same snowflake designer paper. Blingy flowers were attached to the snowflake centers with brads. The sentiment was computer generated and cut with a circle punch. It's edge was then inked and faux stitched before it and the image were popped up on foam tape. I cut the shanks off three snowflake buttons and popped them up on foam tape to add a little sparkle and another B to the design.
Thanks for visiting today. When you get a minute or two, pop over to the Craft Your Passion Challenges blog to see the creative inspiration pieces from the rest of our talented team. We would love it if you decided to play along with our Something Beginning With B challenge.
Life is good; so is art.
