Pumpkins and Turkeys ~ CYP Challenge 240

Our challenge theme this week at Craft Your Passion is Pumpkins and Turkeys in honour of the American Thanksgiving. Our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps and I chose to play with this fun image called Turkey-Pumpkin...seemed appropriate...lol. I coloured Mr. Turkey and his pumpkin with Prismacolor pencils, adding some enamel dots for his pupils. He was then fussy cut, matted in black cardstock, and fussy cut again before being popped up on foam tape.

The background began with a white card base. I traced the right edge of the largest Curved Rectangles die and trimmed the card in that shape, inking around the four edges with Black Soot Distress ink and doodling a border. Layers of two different patterned paper were cut with the next size dies and then matted in black before being stacked. The top layer and mat had two lengths of black twine wrapped around and taped to the back before being adhered over the other layer.

To complete the simple design, the sentiment was computer generated, printed on kraft cardstock, and cut with a circle die. The edge was inked with Black Soot Distress ink and foam tape was applied to the back. A corrugated arrow was matted in black, and three enamel dots were adhered to the shaft of the arrow before it was popped up on foam tape and adhered to the top left corner.

Thanks for visiting with Mr. Turkey and me today. We appreciate that, you know. To see the other wonderful creations by my talented teamies, pop over to the Craft Your Passion Challenges blog. It's worth the click! We would love to see your Pumpkin and Turkey creations, too, so I hope you'll play along with us.

Life is good; so is art.
