One Sweet Challenge ~ Things With Wings

Hi everyone. Since it's the first of May. it's time for a new month-long theme at One Sweet Challenge. For the month of May, we would like to see you play along with "Things With Wings". There are so many images that fit that idea at Sweet Pea Stamps.

Today I chose to play along using Dreamy Lashes by Maigan Lynn. I love all of that hair and those gorgeous butterfly lashes. I coloured this beauty with Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils. She was then fussy cut and matted with black cardstock.

The background began as a rectangle of mixed media paper which I spritzed with Yellow Rose of Texas and Hottie Patottie Hot Pink Lindy's Starburst sprays. Extra drops of the pink were dripped onto the page and then blown into tiny runs with the TH Spritzer tool. Stamping was done with Hero Arts Painted Circle and Pale Ochre Archival ink and also with a grid stamp and Magenta Hue Archival ink. Splatter dots were added with black ink tapped off the eye dropper.

A border was doodled and coloured in with both black and white pens. Pink Neocolor II crayon spread with water was used to add colour next to the border. Black harlequin border was cut with a die and then divided into three segments. White paint pen dots were added to the bottom left of each diamond. Once Dreamy Lashes was adhered to the background, cheesecloth was placed at the top of her head and punched/doodled butterflies with bead bodies were scattered randomly flying out of her head. These were punched from mop up paper which I use to clean up overspray. I always keep them on my desk and often add them to my pages as punched of torn elements.

The sentiment was computer generated and printed on white cardstock. It was cut with a die, matted in black, and faux stitched. The background was double matted with black and pink textured cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by today. My dreamy lashed friend and I appreciate that. When you get a chance, pop over to the One Sweet Challenge blog to see the gorgeous projects by the rest of our talented DT. We would love to have you join us this month for our Things With Wings challenge. Can't wait to see what you create!

Life is good; so is art.
