Remembered ~ New Release at The East Wind

Hi everyone. Today marks the new release of "Harbour Bridge" at The East Wind. New releases happen every Tuesday and Friday and this time, I got to play along. This image comes with and without fireworks in the sky but the background is included either way.

I coloured all but the water and sky with a mix of Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils. I added colour to the water and sky with several colours of blue Pan Pastel. After spraying with a fixative to set the pastel, I added coloured pencil to shade both and mark the ripples in the water. White paint pen was also used to highlight the water. Diamond Stickles was added as stars to the sky and highlights on the water. It was also used to make her lovely clutch purse sparkle. The image was fussy cut leaving a narrow white border, matted with black cardstock, and popped up on foam tape.

The background began with a slightly distressed piece of green patterned paper. More interest was added with Coffee Archival ink and a Sheena Douglass stencil as well as a star stamp. Cornflower Blue Archival ink was applied to a Joggles Latin text stamp. White embossing paste was scraped through TCW's Tiny Circles stencil. Ephemera was adhered behind the image. Tiny star sequins were added and larger ones were layered in the top right corner. A punched photo corner balanced the opposite corner.

The computer generated sentiment was printed on white cardstock, matted with black, and popped up on foam tape. Gel pens were used to draw attention to two words. To complete the page, black pen was used to doodle a border, black Big Brush pen to darken the edges, and the piece was matted with black cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by today. I appreciate that! To see other creations using this gorgeous image, pop by The East Wind Facebook group today. You'll see awesome makes! We would love to see what you create with her, too.

Life is good; so is art.
