Don't Go Crazy ~ Art Journal page inspired by Bloobel Stamps
Hi everyone. I took some time to play with this adorable image from Bloobel Stamps called Boingy Rabbit. She wanted to star on her very own mixed media page and how could I turn down a face like that. She's so cute...love those teeth and her little bunny suit.
I coloured Boingy with a mix of Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils, adding brown half pearls for her eyes. She was then fussy cut leaving a narrow white border and then matted with black cardstock. Boingy was then popped up on foam tape.
The 6 x 8 inch mixed media paper background was sprinkled with Brusho Crystals which were then activated with Dylusions White Linen ink spray. I had never tried that before and it gives a very cool milky effect. I will definitely be doing that again. Stamping was done with Hero Arts Single Starburst stamp and Brilliance Archival Red Gold ink.The same ink was used to apply a Tim Holtz stamp from the I See Paris set. Torn pieces of peach coloured handmade paper and french script book paper. Watering Can Archival ink was stamped in rings using a bottle lid. Bits of drywall mesh were also added to the background in three places.
The fabulous sentiment from Create With TLC (I can relate to it!) was cut apart to fit the space and each segment was matted with black and popped up on foam tape. Two letter in each of three key words were coloured with Prismacolor pencils for emphasis. A little cluster of elements comprised of two threaded buttons and a length of hemp twine was added on top of the mesh beside Boingy. Under that a scrap of watercolour cut from a pad was adhered below the cluster. A border was doodled with a black pen before the edges of the piece were inked with black Big Brush pen. The entire page was matted with black cardstock to frame it as a finishing touch.
Thanks for joining Boingy Rabbit and me today. We are so happy that you stopped by. Be sure to pop by Lisa's Bloobel Stamps shop on Etsy to see more of these inspiring and quirky images. There are so many fun ones there!
Life is good; so is art.
