Fierce and Unstoppable ~ Joggles DT Post Sneak Peek
Hi everyone. I am kicking off the Friday DT schedule over on the Joggles blog today. I share that honour with four other talented artists (Teresa Morgan, Kim Schofield, Leigh Snaith-Brunton, Diana Trout) who will take their turns every Friday to share what they've been up to. This week I played with Joggles/ Margaret Applin Designs 6 x 9 inch Fearless Face Stencil System. I loved the first release with all of the expressions, face shapes, hair styles, and glasses but now that Margaret has added arms, shoulders, hands, headpieces and more, I am over the moon crazy about the possibilities. Faces are my favourite things to colour and when I can create a whole persona and then colour it...and then create an art journal page with it...well, happy dance!
Anyway, this is just a sneak peek. The full tutorial with step out photos, explanation, and supply list is over on the Joggles blog. I hope you will check it out :)

Lil Miss Moody 1481 ~ A Sandra Caldwell New Release
Hi everyone! It's Friday and that means new release day at Sandra Caldwell's Etsy shop, Babycakes Digis and Designs. This week I played with an image called Lil Miss Moody 1481. I just love the expression on her face...been there, felt that. To me, she looks like she wants to be anywhere but where she is doing what she has to do.
I coloured Lil Miss Moody with a mix of Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils, adding in a little Sharpie White waterbased paint pen for the highlights. I've also been playing with eye colour lately and I love the addition of brown around the pupils of her baby blues. She was fuusy cut leaving a narrow white border, matted with black card stock, and fussy cut again. Foam tape was used to pop her up and create dimension and shadow.
The background was one that I had previously created using some mop-up paper from gel printing. I had used the white card stock to clean blue paint off my brayer and then again to get the last bits of green and pale blue paint off my gel plate. I have no clue how I did the black dots but I suspect it was black paint through a stencil onto my gel plate. The large circle stamps were done with Forget-Me-Not Archival Ink and one of the Stampotique Originals designs from Kate's Doodle Cube. I use it a lot! The green fishtail flags were cut from more clean-up paper from gel printing. They were edged with black Big Brush Pen, doodled on with black pen, and a metallic epoxy star was added to each piece.
The sentiment was printed onto white card stock and cut into individual words. These were then matted with black and popped up on foam tape. A simple border was doodled around the page edge, repeating the pattern from the flag ends. The word "sigh" was added with sparkly stickers because that's what I imaging she is doing. The edge of the background was inked with black Big Brush pen to remove the white edge before a black mat was added , framing the page.
Thanks for joining Lil Miss Moody 1481 and me today. I hope your day is filled with fun things rather than "must-dos". To see more of Sandra's wonderful new releases, all of which will be in the shop later today, and also to see what our talented DT members did with them, be sure to drop by Sandra Caldwell Stamp Fans Facebook group, where they will be posted throughout the day. Pop by Sandra's Etsy shop, too, when you get a chance. There are so many fabulous images that you are sure to gain lots of inspiration and add to your wish list.

Your Crazy is Showing - Bloobel Progressive Challenge Entry
Hi everyone! Each month, Lisa at Bloobel Stamps runs a Progressive Challenge on her Facebook page. If you played along the previous month, you get a discount code for the current month's image so you can play along again. This month, she offered the choice of 11 fabulous images or you could use a different code to buy them all at a special price. The theme is Flower Garden and I decided to use the absolute quirkiest (IMHO) three of the collection for my art journal page.
This is Clarissa Flower. She like the others is coloured with Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils.
This lovely is called GM George Flower. He , like the others, was fussy cut leaving a narrow white border, then matted with black, and fussy cut leaving a narrow black border.
The third of the crazies is called David Daisy. He, like his friends, was popped up on foam tape to create dimension and shadow.
The background was created with two different designer papers which were layered and then altered. Ellen Hutson Bokeh Dots Stamps were applied to both backgrounds using either Forget-Me-Not, Jet Black or Coffee Archival Ink. Ranger Texture Paste was scraped through Carabelle Studio Weft Fabric and Numbers Art Template. Some doodling, ant brads, and a printed sentiment completed the design.
Thanks for popping by to meet these three amigos. To check out the other amazing creations made by the people playing along with the Bloobel Progressive Challenge, be sure to pop by the Bloobel Facebook page. It's not too late to join in either. You have until the end of April to enter your creation made with one of the Flower Garden collection images into the Facebook album. Then you will be eligible for the coupon code for May's challenge. Check out the other amazing images in Lisa's shop, too. They make me smile...and want to colour them all :)

1510 Fashion Kitty ~ A Sandra Caldwell New Release
Hi everyone! It's New Release Friday at Sandra Caldwell's Etsy shop, Babycakes Digis and Designs and she has some dandy images for us again this week. The Design Team has done their usual fabulous job creating projects with some of them but Sandra always has a few surprises for us, too. This week, I chose to play with the new image called 1510 Fashion Kitty.
The
card background was cut from designer paper and then a band created
from a scrap of paper left from another background I had created was
added behind the kitty. This band was also matted with black. Faux
stitching was doodled along the long edges and also around the edge
of the designer paper. To help the image stand out from the busy
background and also add a feminine touch, part of a doily was added
behind her.
The
lettering was added with black glittery stickers and three large
pearls were adhered to the top right corner to complete the design.
The background was matted with black card stock to frame the design
before it was adhered to the white card base.

A Brand New Shop ~ LeighSBDesigns
Hi everyone! Have you checked out the new Etsy shop called LeighSBDesigns? It's owned by Leigh Snaith-Brunton and features her amazing, quirky, and inspiring designs. I am smitten! So smitten, in fact, that I have joined her design team so I can play to my heart's content! The image above is called Miss Oddleigh Flower and is the first of a series which we will be introduced to in time. I love her to bits! She also comes with her own flower garden image which I will use another time.
I coloured Miss Oddleigh Flowers with a mix of Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils, fussy cutting her while leaving a narrow white border. She was then matted with black, and fussy cut again leaving a narrow black border to help her stand out from the background.
The 6 x 8 inch background was cut from designer paper and then used to pull prints from my gel plate in several layers. Jet Black Archival was used to stamp VLV heartbeat and star background stamps. Two lengths of washi tape were adhered to the background to give Miss Oddleigh a place to stand. The sentiment was printed onto white card stock and matted with black before foam tape was added to the backs.
Besides the Etsy shop, Leigh has a Facebook group where everyone is welcome to share their LeighSBDesigns projects. We are all excited to see what you create with these inspiring images. Leigh has been sharing some freebies in this group as part of her Grand Opening.
There is also an Inspiration Blog where Leigh and her DT will be sharing their finished projects and providing inspiration as new images are released. Be sure to check it out!
Anyway, congrats to Leigh on the launch of her new Etsy shop and in pursuing a longtime dream. I am super excited to be part of her talented DT and cannot wait to see the new images as they unroll.

Joggles Tuesday Card Post - Sneak Peek
Hi everyone! Today I have another Tuesday Card Post over on the Joggles blog but I thought I would give a little sneak peek here in case you want to check it out. This time I have created 2 sweet and simple cards using images from Stampingbella Creative Girl Stamps by Danielle Donaldson. Have you seen these images? I am smitten with their charm and whimsy. The images come in two sizes, the smaller one being ideal for ATCs and the larger for art journals or cards. There are also sentiments included. I combined these images with some of Joggles Sticky Snippets for quick and easy cards.
Pop over to the Joggles blog to see the coloured images as well as the finished cards. I'd love it if you did :)

The 2017 Joggles Art Journal Adventure ~ Week 16 Sneak Peek
Hi everyone! It's my turn to host Joggles Art Journal Adventure for Week 16. I'm only sharing a sneak peek here with the ulterior motive of luring you to see the rest on the Joggles blog where I share the entire process with step out photos and descriptions. The prompt I chose for this week is "Just Say No to the Blank Page". Lots of times that blank page staring at people inhibits them from starting so today we are using one particular method (there are many others) to take away that blankness and jump start a page. I'm asking everyone to slap down something else first such as a page from an old book, sheet music, magazine or newspaper, whatever you want. Once it's adhered, add a coat of gesso as light or heavy as you want and then begin your page.
I hope I've piqued your interest...I'd love to see you over at the Joggles blog!

1499 Crown Hippo ~ a Sandra Caldwell New Release
Hi everyone! It's Friday and that means there is a lovely group of wonderful new release images at Sandra Caldwell's Etsy shop, Babycakes Digis and Designs. Besides the ones which the DT have played with and will show on the Sandra Caldwell Stamps Fans Facebook group, Sandra always adds some surprises in the shop...so fun!
This week, I played with an image called Crown Hippo 1499...just love her sassy little outfit! I coloured her with a mix of Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils. She was then fussy cut leaving a narrow white border, matted with black card stock, and fussy cut again leaving a narrow black border. Foam tape was added to the back to pop her up and create a natural shadow.
The 6 x 8 inch background began as a "mop-up" paper where I was cleaning blue and green acrylic paint off my brayer when printing with my gel plate. I love using these papers as the start for my backgrounds. Manganese Blue Archival Ink was then used to stamp a punchinella image in a few places and Jet Black Archival was used to apply Carabelle Studio Letter Background stamp. A length of black and white washi tape was added to white card stock to take away the translucency and then it was adhered below Miss Hippo to ground her. Three punched black stars were added to her left.
The sentiment was printed onto white card stock, matted with black, and popped up on foam tape. A simple border was doodled around the outside edges and a punched black photo corner was added to balance the design. Finally, a black card stock mat was added to help frame the background and finish off the card.
Thanks for visiting Crown Hippo and me today. We appreciate your fine company. To check out the other fabulous new releases, be sure to pop by Sandra's Etsy shop. Drop by the Facebook group, too, where you will see the awesome creations featuring these newbies from some of the design team members. We would love to see what you create with Sandra's images there, too.

AdornIt Art Play Paintables Cards ~ a Joggles Sneak Peek
Hi everyone! Today I am posting over on the Joggles blog but I thought I would give a little sneak peek here in case you want to check it out. I have created 7 sweet cards using images from 2 of the 22 AdornIt Art Play Paintables sheets. These are adorable ATC size images printed onto watercolour paper, all ready for you to add colour. Each one can become a sweet focal for a card and with 12 to a sheet, the possibilities are wonderful. I used Derwent Inktense Pencils and wet brushes to add colour to mine but any watercolour pencils or palette, Neocolor IIs, Distress Markers/Ink Pads or even markers like Copics would work just as well.
Pop over to the Joggles blog to see all 7 coloured images as well as the finished cards. You know you waaaannnnaaa :)

1467 Lady Bug Hippo ~ a Sandra Caldwell New Release
Hi everyone! It's New Release Friday at Sandra Caldwell's Etsy shop, Babycakes Digis and Designs and she has some dandy images for us again this week. The Design Team has done their usual fabulous job creating projects with some of them but Sandra always has a few surprises for us, too. This week, I chose to play with the new image called Lady Bug Hippo 1467. I love ladybugs and Sandra's hippos always make me smile so it was a win/win with this image.
I coloured LBH with a mix of Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils, adding Diamond Stickles to her wings. She was fussy cut leaving a narrow white border and then matted with black card stock. Once she was fussy cut a second time leaving a narrow black border, she was popped up with foam tape to give added dimension and to create a natural shadow.
The 6 x 8 inch mixed media paper background was coloured with a brayer and Blue Green Light and Aquamarine DecoArt acrylic paint, giving it a hit and miss approach rather than going for full coverage. It was a clean up sheet where I cleaned my brayer when Gel printing. During the same gel printing session, I also used black acrylic paint and an MFT Weave stencil, so I cleaned that off on this background, too. Why waste all that yummy paint and pattern? Stamping was done with Jet Black Archival Ink and a VLV circle stamp before molding paste was scraped through Joggles Mini Punchinella Quintet stencil circles. Two pieces of washi tape were layered to give LBH somewhere to stand so her little wings didn't get tired.
The sentiment was printed on white card stock and cut into sections. These were matted with black card stock and popped up on foam tape. Three hearts were die cut from the red and white washi tape, outlined with black, and adhered above the saying on the right side. This brings that red as well as the dotty pattern to the opposite corner of the page causing the eye to travel through it. A simple border was doodled around the edge and Black Big Brush Pen was used to ink the white edges of the page. A black mat was added to the page to frame it as well as adding strength to the page.
Thanks for joining Lady Bug Hippo and me today. To see more of Sandra's wonderful new releases which will be in the shop later, and also see what our talented DT members did with them, be sure to drop by Sandra Caldwell Stamp Fans Facebook group, where they will be posted throughout the day. Pop by Sandra's Etsy shop, too, when you get a chance. You are sure to see many images that inspire you to create!

Old Folks Challenge at Sandra Caldwell Stamp Fans Facebook group
Hi everyone! I'm excited today because I am hosting this month's challenge at Sandra Caldwell Stamp Fans Facebook Group.
My challenge theme is Old Folks because I am such a huge fan of all of Sandra's Old Lady images (and also because I can relate to the theme...LOL). That woman has spunk and attitude :)
She has also created an adorable brand new image just for this challenge and it will also be on sale in her Etsy shop, Babycakes Digis and Designs.
You can create a project with any (or all) of these five Old Folks images and enter it in the April challenge album on the Facebook page for a chance to win the prize of 2 free digis plus a bonus coupon which Sandra has generously included for Buy 2/Get 2 Free.
The challenge starts today (April 6, 2017) and will run for two weeks, closing at midnight PST on April 19, 2017. Just to entice you and show you the images, I have created 5 different art journal pages. I think these images would also be adorable for birthday cards, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, or JFF cards. They work for almost any occasion really since they certainly will bring a smile.
I hope you will join us for this Old Folks Challenge at Sandra Caldwell Stamp Fans Facebook group. I cannot wait to see what everyone creates with these lovelies!
