Christmas in July ~ CYP Challenge #223
We have a fun theme this week at Craft Your Passion Challenges. It's Christmas in July and our wonderful sponsor is Crafty Sentiments. I chose to play with the image called Hootie Christmas Carol and coloured this sweet couple with my Prismacolor pencils before fussy cutting leaving a narrow white border. The image was then matted in black cardstock before being popped up on foam tape.
The background papers come from a Christmas stack by Recollections. The two papers were separated by a puncged scallop border and the entire background was matted in black with the corners on the right being rounded. Before that layer was adhered to the white card base, two lengths of red satin ribbon was wrapped around the left side. A small red bow was glued to the end of the image branch. Faux stitching was doodled on both designer papers with a black Micron pen.
The sentiment was computer generated, matted in red, and given a punched red heart. It was then popped up on foam tape for dimension. Three Christmas themed tickets from Vectoria Designs were printed, fussy cut, and matted in black. They were glued together and popped up on foam dots to raise them higher than the other elements. Three black pearls finished off the design.
The Hooties and I thank you for stopping by today. We do appreciate your fine company. When you get a chance, hop over to the Craft Your Passion Challenges blog to see the wonderful Christmas creations by my talented teammates. We'd love it if you decided to get an early start on your Christmas cards and played along this week.
Life is good; so is art.

Hi Bonnie,I love the little owls you made. The matting on blackpaper is great. And the little bow brings a great detail.
