Feel the Fall ~ TEW Challenge #15

Today is that day where I have three blog posts to do so bear with me! We have a new challenge beginning at The East Wind and the theme is Feel the Fall/Autumn. Certainly we have been feeling it this past week. I even broke down and turned on the furnace because I was freezing and don't like colouring if my hands are cold. We even had frost warnings last night!

For this challenge, I chose to play with Lucy Loo Tartan Longstocking....love her! I coloured her with Prismacolor pencils, fussy cut her, and matted her with dark brown cardstock. You thought I was going to say black, didn't you! Lucy Loo was popped up on foam tape, given a latte, and asked to wait for me to do the background.

I began with a white card base and added a slightly smaller rectangle of textures dark brown cardstock to it. I cut leaves from corrugated paper and dictionary paper using the TH Tattered Leaves die. My only complaint about that die is that there is no maple leaf and here in Ontario, it isn't fall without them. I printed out a template and cut one from a music sheet. All of the leaves were inked with a combination of Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Barn Door, Peeled Paint, and Vintage Photo Distress inks using a blending tool. I love those colours together. The leaves were added to the card behind Lucy.

A strip of scrap paper was handcut into a fishtail flag and faux stitched before being adhered to the bottom of the card to give Lucy a place to stand. The bottom sentiment was computer generated, printed on white cardstock, inked with Vintage Photo Distress ink, and faux stitched. It was then popped up on foam tape andlayered slightly over the other strip. The sentiment at the top comes from Create With TLC and was cut out with a circle punch before being inked with Vintage Photo. To complete the card design, A twine bow was tied from hemp and glued to the top left corner and three enamel dots were addded to the bottom right.

Thanks for spending some time today with Lucy Loo and me. To check out the rest of the amazing DT projects for Challenge #15, Feel the Fall, visit The East Wind Challenge Blog. We would love to have you play along!

Life is good; so is art.
