My Personal Shopper ~ Day 12 of the 12 Days of Creepmas

Bwa Ha Ha! Airless Chambers has once again been celebrating Creepmas by joining the 12 days of Creepmas Blog Hop organized by Smeared Ink. It's my turn to host the hop at Airless Chambers with my art journal project for Day 12.

My journal page is about my perfect solution to all of the stresses of finding just the right gift for each person on my list. I hired a personal shopper, the star of the image known as Creepmas Shopper. Isn't she amazing? I coloured her and all of her purchases with a mix of Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils. Red Stickles was added to her cigarette end to make it glow and to the holly berries in her hair. White embossing paste was added to the Santa hat, and Glossy Accents to all the eyeballs. The image was fussy cut leaving a narrow white border which was then matted with black.

The background started as a 6 x 8 inch rectangle of green glittery dotty paper. A wreath stamp was added with Library Green Archival ink and a crosshatched pattern with Fern Green Archival. Washi tape was applied to white cardstock, trimmed with a fishtail end and applied in three places. The one grounding her eas given a black triangle end and a white metal snowflake coloured with a red Copic marker. The other two were topped with purple buttons threaded with purple floss to connect to the purple in the image. Black cardstock corners were added and black snowflakes punched and adhered randomly. The sentiment was computer generated, printed on white cardstock and matted with black. Both the words and my shopper were popped up on foam tape to create dimension. To finish the page, black Big Brush pen was added to the edges and black matting to the entire page to frame it.

Thanks so much for stopping by. If you want contact info for this shopper so you are all set for next year, message me...LOL. Won't people be surprised when they open their gifts!

Merry Creepmas!

The East Wind Challenge #45

We have a brand new challenge theme beginning today at The East Wind blog. With all of the busy times and details to look after at this time of year, we decided to go with a CAS (Clean and Simple) theme. I rarely do anything clean and simple. Messy and complicated is more my style so this one took some thought and restraint. LOL

I chose the super sweet Good Witch Makes Christmas For Her Cat image for my CAS card. She was coloured with Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils. The corners of the image were rounded and a border was doodled around the outside. Flat black pearls were added to her coat as buttons.

The background is a rectangle of black and white dotty paper. The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock and fussy cut close to the letters. It was adhered with foam tape and two enamel hearts were added to the sides. The background was added to a white card base to finish it.

Thanks for popping by today. I do believe this is my shortest post ever! To see what the other talented Blog DT members created, be sure to stop by The East Wind Challenge blog. We can't wait to see your CAS creations.

Wendell Wreath ~ a Rick St. Dennis Creepmas image

Bwa Ha Ha! Airless Chambers is once again celebrating Creepmas by joining the 12 days of Creepmas Blog Hop organized by Smeared Ink. Today is Day 8 of the Creepmas blog hop on Airless Chambers. I'm here today with an art journal page dedicated to all of us (and I'm afraid I'm included) who have had to sit on the Naughty Step in 2015. I've been on it so many times that the step is worn to fit my behind perfectly!

The mixed media piece features the ever so creepy Wendell Wreath...so fun! I coloured Wendell with Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils, adding Glossy Accents to his lovely bulging eyes. Silver gel pen was used to colour the balls on the wreath. He was fussy cut leaving a narrow white border and then matted with black cardstock before being popped up on foam tape.

The background began as a 6 x 8 inch rectangle of mixed media paper which had sprinkles of  Leaf Green, Turquoise, and Cobalt Blue Brusho crystals added in little groups. Water was spritzed over the crystals and the card was tipped and tilted to create runs and drips. Once dry, circles were added with a Stampotique cube and Cobalt Blue Archival ink. Text was added with a Joggles stamp and Viridian Green Archival ink. White embossing paste was scraped through Dylusions Bubbles stencil. A special delivery stamp and some Penny Black Alpha stamps were added with Jet Black Archival. A spider sticker was popped up on the inside of the special delivery impression.

The Creepmas tree was hand drawn and cut from spray clean up cardstock with corrugated cardboard for the trunk. A skull sticker decorates the top and Idea-ology black tinsel plus some black half pearls make Wendell's tree a show stopper (he thinks). The tree was popped up on foam tape and a scrap of cheesecloth became the snow. Washi tape was placed behind the tree to ground it. The computer generated sentiment was printed on white, matted with black, and popped up on foam tape. The tiny word, Again, was created with stickers. To finish the page, Black Big Brush pen was added to the edges and the entire piece was matted in black.

Thanks for visiting Wendell and me today. We appreciate that!

Remembered ~ New Release at The East Wind

Hi everyone. Today marks the new release of "Harbour Bridge" at The East Wind. New releases happen every Tuesday and Friday and this time, I got to play along. This image comes with and without fireworks in the sky but the background is included either way.

I coloured all but the water and sky with a mix of Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils. I added colour to the water and sky with several colours of blue Pan Pastel. After spraying with a fixative to set the pastel, I added coloured pencil to shade both and mark the ripples in the water. White paint pen was also used to highlight the water. Diamond Stickles was added as stars to the sky and highlights on the water. It was also used to make her lovely clutch purse sparkle. The image was fussy cut leaving a narrow white border, matted with black cardstock, and popped up on foam tape.

The background began with a slightly distressed piece of green patterned paper. More interest was added with Coffee Archival ink and a Sheena Douglass stencil as well as a star stamp. Cornflower Blue Archival ink was applied to a Joggles Latin text stamp. White embossing paste was scraped through TCW's Tiny Circles stencil. Ephemera was adhered behind the image. Tiny star sequins were added and larger ones were layered in the top right corner. A punched photo corner balanced the opposite corner.

The computer generated sentiment was printed on white cardstock, matted with black, and popped up on foam tape. Gel pens were used to draw attention to two words. To complete the page, black pen was used to doodle a border, black Big Brush pen to darken the edges, and the piece was matted with black cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by today. I appreciate that! To see other creations using this gorgeous image, pop by The East Wind Facebook group today. You'll see awesome makes! We would love to see what you create with her, too.

To each his own ~ Rick St. Dennis Progressive Challenge

Hi everyone! Not only does today mark the first day of Creepmas but it is also the start of Part Two of the Progressive Challenge on the Sparkle and Glitter blog. For part two, we all use the same image which was the freebie given to those who played along with Part One. The image is a Creepmas one called Take Yer Pick. He makes me chuckle.

I coloured TYP with a mix of Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils. Glossy Accents was added to the eyes of the prezzie and the pumpkin as well as the prezzie's teeth. They were then fussy cut leaving a narrow white border and matted in black. Foam tape was added to the back to pop them off the background.

The background, a 6 x 8 inch rectangle of mixed media paper, was sprinkled with Ost Red and Orange Brusho Crystals and then spritzed with water. By picking up the background and turning it several ways, the colours blend and create new colours. Once dry, Autumn Maple Crimson Starburst spray was added in a horizontal line across the top third line and allowed to drip and run. More of the spray was splattered on the background by tapping a brush loaded with it. Stamping was added with Rocket Red Gold ink and a spider web border to which black pen was also added. The three bats stamp was inked with Archival Magenta Hue and each bat was given half pearl eyes. The holly and berries stamp was added with Jet Black Archival ink. I wanted the mix of Halloween and Christmas stamps to further the Creepmas theme as well as the choice the prezzie is giving us.

Black Marble Dylusions paint was pounced through Memory Box's Rings & Puddles stencil and White Dylusions paint through TCW's Tiny Circles stencil. The lettering was added with black foam Thicker letters. TYP was placed over a piece of cheesecloth to represent snow and a black spider sticker with a jewelled back was adhered over that. A doodled border continued the spider web border from the top. To finish, the edges were inked with black Big Brush pen, and a black cardstock mat was added to frame the piece.

Thanks for joining TYP and me today. We appreciate your stopping by. To see the other fabulous creations from Team A of Rick's EDT, be sure to stop by the Sparkle and Glitter blog. We would love to see what you create with this fun image. And check out the Zibbet shop to see a whole bunch of new Creepmas images and Rick's Creepmas colouring book.

The East Wind Challenge #44 ~ Meowy Christmas

Hi there. Today marks the beginning of our second annual Meowy Christmas challenge at The East Wind blog. Unky created a special image with that theme in mind for the December newsletter freebie ...so cute! All of the DT are using this one for their inspiration projects.

I coloured Meowy Christmas with a mix of Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils. Clear Wink of Stella was added over the glass ball portion and gold gel pen was used on the string. The image was then trimmed out leaving a narrow white border and then matted with black. Once it was fussy cut again, it was popped up on foam tape to add dimension.

Two Christmas papers from MME's Christmas paper pack were trimmed to layer over black mats. Gold twine was wrapped around the layers and fastened in the back. A die cut sentiment was inked around with gold and faux stitched before being matted with black cardstock. A tiny poinsettia stacked sticker was added to the bottom of the sentiment label to tie the red from the image into it. Finally a gold brad was added to the top to become the hanger for the ornament string.

Thanks for joining my feline friends and me today. We would love to see what you create for our Meowy Christmas challenge. I hope you will join us over at The East Wind Challenge blog. That would be purrr-fect!
