Something's Fishy

Holy Toledo...major brain cramp! I posted next fortnight's atc first. Here is the correct one for this week:

There is a new challenge beginning at ATCs With Attitude. The theme this fortnight is More Than One Fold which is more often associated with cards than atcs...that's what makes it so fun! I was able to play with Meljen's Designs Little Fish image to create an underwater scene where the sand is accordion folded. The image was coloured with my Prismacolor pencils and given half pearl eyes over the sleepy eyes on the original drawing. Little fish was fussy cut, edged in Black Big Brush pen, and popped up on foam dots for dimension.

The background started as a 3.5 x 2.5 piece of white cardstock which I colourized with Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, and Peacock Feathers Distress inks applied with a felt applicator. Pthalo Blue Big Brush pen was used to line and darken the edges of the background. A length of torn kraft cardstock was accordion folded to create three folds which were foam taped together. The folds were staggered so that each layer showed and were further emphasized by applying Vintage Photo to the folds and edges of the tears.

The scene was further embellished by punching sea plants out of green printed scraps using a McGill pine branch punch and adding precut sand dollars to the layers. The sand and shells come from MuddPuddles Malibu Beach Sand and Mini Shells. The bubbles above the fish are Dew Drops attached with Glossy Accents and the starfish is a button with the shank removed.

That's my happy little atc with more than one fold. Check out the ATCs With Attitude blog to see how the rest of the DT interpreted this challenge. We all did something a little different which is so fun. I love that about challenges...you see so many cool responses to the same theme. I hope you join us this time. I'd love to see what you create. Thanks so much for visiting today.

I am entering this atc in the following challenges:
Through the Craft Room Door Challenge ~ Anything Goes
Stamp 'n Doodle ~ Ocean or Sea
Shopping Our Stash ~ #109 Summer theme or colours (Every thing with the exception of the digi has been in my stash for ages...go me!)

Life is good; so is art.
Bonnie

A delight of an ATC, Bonnie - I love the folded dimension of your seabed, and the dopey smile on the fish's face is very sweet!
